Save Time with Keyboard Shortcuts
Discovering shortcuts in Microsoft Windows is a great way to maximize your efficiency while working with your applications. The problem is that many of these shortcuts are unknown by users. The good news is that they are easy to learn and require no additional setup on your system!
We’ve all been in a situation where we have too many windows open and need to access something on the desktop. How many times have you minimized each window until you finally get there? Why not take the easy road and use a simple keyboard shortcut… No matter where you are in Windows, hitting your Start key + M will minimize all open windows and take you right to your desktop!
Another useful shortcut is the ability to quickly tab between open windows. Hitting Alt + Tab will show a dialog box with icons for every window you have open. Hold down the Alt key and keep pressing tab to select the window you wish to navigate to. Doing this will prevent you from having to find the desired window in your task bar!
How about deleting files? Do you sometimes wish you didn’t have to manually empty your recycle bin? Click on the file(s) you want to permanently delete and hit Shift + DELETE. This will bypass the recycle bin and permanently delete the files.
You can even close windows and programs easily by hitting Alt + F4. If no windows are open, hitting Alt + F4 will ask you if you want to shutdown Windows.
